Never has such a small and unassuming component been responsible for so much engine damage.

Sitting between the inlet camshaft and high pressure fuel pump, the follower is a sacrificial component that is designed to wear instead of your camshaft. Over time, this will wear and the cam will potentially run directly on the pump plunger and cause huge damage. Unfortunately, this is a very common occurence.

We recommend that this is checked every oil change, and changed every 20k or more often is wear is apparent.
